WINTERY weather has wrapped its freezing fingers around the region this morning, with snow in Birdlip and ice in the Cotswolds.
Birdlip residents awoke to find "big fat snowflakes" falling at 9am.
While in the Cotswolds ice has made surfaces dangerously slippery.
Police warned motorists to be careful, with a spokesman saying: "There are reports of very dangerous roads due to ice in the Cotswolds, particularly east of Cheltenham, towards Oxfordshire.
"Gritters are out on the roads."
Met Office forecasters say tomorrow could be one of the coldest November 5ths on record.
