A PASSION for fashion drew Sarah-Jane Worboys into the clothing industry two years ago.
And the entrepreneur has been so successful she is celebrating the opening of her second shop.
After leaving the recruitment industry because of the recession, the 40-year-old decided to set up her own clothing shop Hush Womenswear in Worcester. But after a visit to Cheltenham, she decided it was the best place to open up her next store.
Sarah-Jane, who lived in the spa town 15 years ago, sells a range of boutique clothes for all occasions – from formal dresses to the school run.
The mum-of-two said: "I knew I wanted to come to Cheltenham.
"The Suffolks was always the perfect place, as it has lots of interesting shops and is a great area, so we have spent the past eight months looking for somewhere. I have always shopped in Cheltenham and loved the area so it is fantastic to finally be here.
"I never thought I would have one shop, so to have two has left me feeling really fortunate."
Sarah-Jane held an official launch for her shop. It saw 200 people in for strawberries and Champagne throughout the day.
She said: "It has been a fantastic first week and we have had a lot of support from the other traders and people who live in the area.
"It is such a beautiful unit we have right here. It used to be a grocers and still has all the original fittings.
"The recession made the recruitment industry virtually impossible and clothing and fashion have always been a passion of mine.
"I think the shop has been so successful because it is affordable, as well as being boutique. The clothes are really versatile and I think in times of recession that is really important to people as they have less money.
"I do all the buying myself and it is based on things I like, but taking on board customers' views and feedback."
Sarah-Jane said she was hoping to take part in a lot of events and fashion shows in the town, like she does in Worcester.
