LATEST figures show measles cases continue to rise in Gloucestershire, despite a catch-up vaccination programme rolling out across the county.
The May figures show a further 11 cases of the preventable, infectious disease.
This comes on top of 72 regional cases from January to April this year, compared to 62 cases for the whole of 2012.
Across England as a whole, cases declined in May.
There were 188 confirmed cases in May, compared to 299 for April.
The figures suggest that the MMR catch-up programme could be having an impact, but it is too soon to be sure.
Ten 14-year-olds were affected, making them the age group most hit.
Dr Shona Arora, Public Health England Centre Director for Gloucestershire, said: "Measles is a highly infectious and unpleasant disease that can lead to very serious complications.
"Thanks to the hard work of local health teams we are making good progress towards the 95 per cent target, but there still remains a large number under-vaccinated."
