CHEEKY gnomes lured more than 500 people to their trail through the gardens of Eastcombe.

The fourth annual family event was organised by Eastcombe School Association to collect funds for the small village primary school.

"This year a record amount of more than £2,000 was raised," said garden trail organisers' spokeswoman Rebecca Ulett.

"Many commented on the lovely gardens along the trail so a big thank you to all those Eastcombe residents who allowed us to wander and search for those cheeky gnomes."

Stalls and games in the school playground added to the fun, particularly one with knitted gnomes. There were cream teas and cupcakes at the finish at The Lamb Inn, plus a big thank you to business sponsors of the event.
