COMMUNITY activism will be supported by an almost £10,000 National Lottery grant to Transition Stroud.
The money from the lottery's Awards for All programme will help the group tackle the dual issues of climate change and peak oil.
Its volunteer director Gail Bradbrook said: "The grant will enable Transition Stroud to support and develop five pieces of work.
"They are on partnership and supporting community activism."
A small grant from Stroud District Council enabled the group to offer match funding which proved its local support.
Climate change is significant alterations in the weather, maybe caused by human activity, which impact on modern life and the future.
Peak oil is the point at which petrol extraction starts to decline.
Transition Stroud, started in 2006, as only the sixth UK Transition town.
