BOOKINGS are up as improvements continue at the charity-run Nailsworth Subscription Rooms.

The latest £16,000 of work is to the garage at the former Boys' Club.

The renovation includes a new frontage and extension at the back to add ground floor working space.

The project, which needs a further £5,000 to 6,000 to fit out the new space, was funded from grants and the charity's own resources.

"This will give the workshops much needed room for their expanding classes," said trustee Les Haines.

"The improvements over the past few years have had a direct bearing on the level of bookings and income from them has increased substantially in the last year."
