B&M Homestore has opened a new shop where the MFI used to be at Kingsditch Retail Park in Cheltenham.
The 18,000 sq ft store opened today and has created more than 50 new jobs.
It sells discounted everyday items including groceries and toiletries, as well as paint, wallpaper, soft furnishings, home wares and gardening goods.
B&M now trades from over 330 stores nationwide, compared to just 20 shops six years ago.
In the last three years it has been opening an average of one new store every week.
The company is now one of the UK's largest retailers with 2.5 million shoppers per week.
It employs over 13,000 staff.
Operations director Carl Allen said: "We have been waiting for an opportunity in Cheltenham for three years and are delighted to have secured this site."
B&M has been recognised as one of the top 100 fastest growing private companies in the UK by the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 ranking.
