A FIGHT at the Horse & Jockey pub spilt out onto the street in the early hours of this morning.
Police officers are appealing for information after the "nasty" altercation at about 3am this morning.
A student event was taking place at the pub in Townsend Street when two uninvited men turned up.
One of the men made a comment to a woman at the party and then the fight kicked off.
The fight then moved outside and one man suffered an injury to his ear while another man suffered injuries to his face.
Both of the men were then taken to Cheltenham General Hospital for treatment.
Sergeant Mark Stephens said: "This was quite a nasty public order issue and we are working closely with our colleagues at the University of Gloucestershire and University of Gloucestershire Students' Union to establish what happened this morning.
"Police officers and PCSOs will be situated at the university to speak to students who may have seen what had happened.
"Although this incident is disturbing for the community of St Pauls, it is important to point out that crime and disorder in the area is massively down year on year and the relationship between students in the community is a productive one through schemes like St Paul's Streetwatch".
Three men, two aged 22 and one aged 20, were arrested on suspicion of assault.
Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident number 22 of June 13.
