YOUNG Hannah Brooks-Hughes is celebrating after winning five medals at the Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts.
The nine-year-old Dean Close School pupil claimed first prize in two violin competitions and two piano classes, as well as taking a silver in a prose recital competition.
Hannah, who lives in Stanway, near Winchcombe, has been playing the violin since she was four and the piano since five, and she hopes to make a career as a solo violinist.
Her father Barry, 46, said she was delighted by her success at the festival, where talented performers from across Gloucestershire competed in music, dance and drama competitions.
"She was very pleased to have won her classes," he said. "She is used to performing so she wasn't too nervous beforehand – she was just excited."
