THE clear-up has started at the Cotswold Care Hospice charity shop in Stonehouse after it was damaged in a suspected arson attack.
The High Street store has been shut ever since the blaze nine days ago.
The Minchinhampton-based charity is determined to get the fundraising shop back in business as soon as possible.
The fire destroyed a shed which stored donations and an extension which included the kitchen and storage.
Volunteers are working with charity staff to clear the damage and the mess at the back of the shop. Valley Skips has provided a skip at discount.
"The response we've had since the fire has restored our faith in the community after this attack," said hospice chief executive Jules Eaton.
"I'm tremendously impressed by how all our staff and volunteers have rallied round to recover from this attack and wish to record my thanks and admiration."
Stonehouse shop staff have been redeployed to work in the hospice's other shops in Minchinhampton and Stroud.
