HOODS and brollies were the order of the day as Bisley youngsters celebrated the 150th anniversary of their Ascension Day parade.
The pupils from Bisley Blue Coat School attended a service at the village church, conducted by guest the former Bishop of Warrington the Rt Rev David Jennings.
They then paraded in drizzling rain through the crowds to decorate the wells with flowers. The ceremony, which started in 1863, gives thanks for the community's clean water.
"It was a bit wet and a little windy but still a colourful delight," said parent Bairbre Lloyd.
Families and visitors watched the traditional dressing of Bisley's wells with floral stars carried by pupils Polly Young, Ewan Gegg, Lydia Coysh and Ben Burwell.
Letters spelling out the special date of Ascension AD2013 were then displayed.
