A 91-YEAR-OLD, who was suffering from terminal cancer, died after she fell down the stairs, an inquest heard.

Mary Hadley, from Bishop's Cleeve, had a tumour in her oesophagus and would have to get up in the night to wash her mouth and throat.

Her daughter Patricia, who lived with Mrs Hadley at their Meadow Way home, heard the bang of her mother stumbling down the stairs.

Mrs Hadley was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital by paramedics following the fall on November 26 last year.

She underwent a CT scan, but she died the next day with her daughter by her side.

Coroner Mr Dooley recorded a verdict of death as a result of an accidental fall.
