Youth club's on two wheels with slice of windfall

CHILDREN at the Top of Town Community Association Youth Club are keeping on the move on five new scooters paid for with £350 from Stroud Town Council.

It was one of six groups to receive a slice of £4,600 from town councillors.

Stroud Valleys Project received £2500 to support activities to help it improve its long-term sustainability.

Stroud Sea Cadets received £250 towards kayak paddles. Stroud Local History Society got £500 for an exhibition and Ignition Gloucestershire received £500 to support a family fun day in Stratford Park. Slad Valley Action Group got £500 to help with the costs of campaigning against housing development in the Slad Valley.

The next deadline for grant applications is May 13, 2013. Forms are available from the town council offices or stroudtown.gov.uk.
