April showers are set to descend on Gloucestershire over the next few days.
No sooner has the county seemingly got over wintry conditions than rain has arrived to spoil the party.
Met office weather experts predict heavy showers interspersed with sunshine throughout most of today.
Then steady rain is set to fall in the county on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Temperatures are due to rise however, reaching 13C in some areas this afternoon.
The downpours come hot on the heels of a prolonged cold spell and the coldest March in 50 years which has got experts worried about the impact climate change is having on our winters.
Met Office chief scientist Julia Slingo said climate change was "loading the dice" towards freezing, drier weather, making winter last for longer in recent years.
She told the Sun newspaper a full investigation was needed into the issue.
"If you look at the way out weather patterns have behaved over the past four or five years, we're beginning to think there is something happening," she said.
"Our climate is being disrupted by the warming of the Arctic that we have observed very dramatically since 2007.
"We should pull together the best scientists to see how we csan detect the influence of the Arctic on the jet stream and on weather around the world."
