TROUBLE at the Brockworth 'bridge of booze' has flared up again.

Police say they are still getting complaints from residents about young people hanging around in the Nightjar Road area.

PC Rob Guest said officers had been down to check on the situation but had not found anyone doing anything wrong.

Problems flared up last summer with householders saying people were riding mopeds across the bridge and gathering near the play area to smoke, drink and even have sex in the bushes.

A petition with more than 70 signatures was handed to the parish council asking for the bridge to be removed.

They were told last year it could not be but bollards were put on the bridge and prickly bushes were planted near it to try and prevent the problems.

PC Guest said: "After a lull in the winter months it's started up again and residents are still clamouring to have the bridge removed.

"We will be going down to patrol and check how many people actually use the bridge."
