CUPCAKES were whipped up by Gloucester Rugby players this week in aid of charity.
Six of them swapped the rugby pitch for the kitchen yesterday to raise funds for Comic Relief and Restart – the charity that supports ill and injured players.
Pete Buxton, Dan Robson, Koree Britton, Billy Burns, Dan Murphy and Alex Brown put some muscle power into the challenge of baking and decorating 1,000 cupcakes.
They then raced around Cheltenham selling their wares to office staff at Capita, Zurch and GV Aviation.
Their efforts raised £1,441 which will be split evenly between Comic Relief and Restart.
The Twickenham-based charity's head of fundraising Liz Beatty said: "They worked really hard and we're really pleased with the money raised."
