ROADWORKS caused delays for motorists in Stroud on Sunday.
Although Western Power Distribution chose the quietest day of the week to dig up the road at the junction of Merrywalks and Cainscross Road, queues of traffic built up along both those roads, Dr Newton's Way and Bath Road in Rodborough.
Traffic lights allowed only one flow of vehicles from each road at a time to go through the Merrywalks mini roundabouts, meaning delays of around 10 to 15 minutes for some drivers.
Traffic queued for around half a mile along Cainscross Road. The work is expected to be finished by the end of the day.
