I was absolutely delighted to train my first winner for Liz and Peter Prowting at Ludlow on Wednesday.
It came when Faultless Feelings opened his account for the first time over hurdles under a great ride from stable jockey Ian Popham.
Faultless Feelings made all the running and absolutely jumped for fun, showing us that we also have a lot to look forward to when he goes over fences in the future.
I rode my first winner as a jockey on a horse owned by Liz and Peter called Air Shot and I was thrilled when they asked me to train for them last summer.
They added to their string here with Annacotty, who was purchased just before Christmas.
He may make his debut over hurdles at Chepstow tomorrow after an encouraging third-placed finish in a decent Kempton bumper recently.
My wife Belinda's horse The Fox's Decree so nearly made it a double for us at Ludlow but was touched off by a head on the line into second place.
He may run again at Catterick on Tuesday and while his records isn't great for wins alone, he's barely ever out of the first three and will hopefully be thereabouts again.
He's only ever won once, when partnered by a certain AP McCoy, and I'm determined to get his head in front again soon!
Seymour Eric has been the star of our season so far, winning four races on the bounce and remaining unbeaten since he joined us in October.
He'd never won a race before then so it obviously suits him being here and we couldn't be happier that he's here too!
His first race for us was in early December when he entered the history books by becoming the last horse to win a race at Hereford before they closed their gates possibly for good.
He then went on to win at Towcester on Boxing Day and then for the third time at Huntingdon at the beginning of this month.
Last Saturday's race was his biggest test to date in a Pertemps Final qualifier at Haydock Park where he faced a competitive field.
However, he absolutely relished the heavy ground and jumped for fun to score again by four and a half lengths with his ears *****ed.
His part-owner and breeder Mrs Tommy Black hadn't bred a winner before Eric started his winning run so she just cannot believe the season he is having.
The handicapper has raised him another 15lb for his most recent success which means he has gone up a total of 50lb since joining us – quite astounding and nothing we've ever experienced before.
He will now hopefully be guaranteed a place in the line-up for the Pertemps Final at the Festival where he thoroughly deserves his place.
After giving us so much fun so far he has nothing extra to prove, but equally I'm not counting against him giving us yet more to shout about.
Champion Court and Any Currency are both in good form and stepping up their work again as they head towards the Cheltenham Festival.
Any Currency has two options there ahead of hopefully his main aim of the Grand National.
One of these options is in the cross-country race.
He needs to school around some of the fences there in order to qualify so he'll be heading off to Cheltenham sometime next week.
If he takes to the fences I think it is a quirky sort of race that may suit him.
I am on the panel for a Cheltenham Festival preview evening on Tuesday, March 5 at the Cheltenham Regency Hotel.
It is in aid of St Richard's Hospice and I will be joined on the panel by fellow trainer Richard Phillips who is our host, Simon Clare from Corals, jockey Paddy Brennan and Andrew King from the Racing Post.
It sounds like it will be a good night and we will hopefully manage to give those attending a few Festival winners with a bit of luck.
For anyone wishing to attend, there are still tickets available so please email tcavell@strichards.org.uk or email me through my website, www.martinkeighleyracing.com.
