BLACKHEATH 30 CINDERFORD 22
CINDERFORD lost at the Rectory Field for the first time since October 2010 thanks to 15 points from former Forester Rory Teague.
National One's top points scorer for the Dockham Road outfit last season kicked half of his side's points as Andy Deacon's men had their good run ended.
The Forest of Dean outfit had won back-to-back home games but a strong second-half showing from the home side ensured they left south east London with nothing.
The visitors started the game well enough and were encouraged by three wins in their last four visits to Blackheath.
Full-back Mike Wilcox cut a great line through midfield after 12 minutes and chipped ahead for winger Lloyd Stapleton to dot down but fly-half Mark Davies was off target.
A thunderous hit from captain Will Foden won his side a penalty seven minutes later but Davies could not send it between the posts.
Wilcox sliced through again on 21 minutes but his pass found Blackheath scrum-half Jack Walsh who cleared but the resulting five-metre catch and drive lineout sent Tom Bozzard over.
This time Davies found his range to lead 12-0 but Cinderford could not gather the restart resulting in an easy Teague penalty to open his account for the day three minutes later.
Davies then sliced a drop goal wide on half hour before Danny Pointon's loose kick three minutes before half-time was returned with interest by home full-back Geoff Griffiths.
That set up good attacking position and two rucks later inside centre Richard Windsor dotted down near the posts with Teague's simple kick making it 12-10.
But Davies had the final word when he booted over a 45-metre penalty right on the whistle to lead 15-10 at the break.
Foden stopped a certain try after just four minutes with Blackheath players lined up out wide when metres from his own line he won a penalty with great breakdown work.
But the pressure continued and six minutes later Walsh darted over for his side's second try from a ruck in Cinderford's 22 and Teague nudged his side in front 17-15.
Teague then stretched the gap to five on 54 minutes when more pressure forced the visitors to infringe at a ruck and the former Lydney and Gloucester man converted.
Then with Cinderford back pedalling near their line on 64 minutes, replacement Jack Preece could not resist coming in at the side and earned a yellow card.
Courageous defence held Blackheath out until 70 minutes when the 14 men gave away another shot in front of the posts which Teague needed no second invitations for 23-15.
Blackheath wing Richard Lankhsear then smashed his way through the tackles seven minutes later to go all the way to the line to score the match clincher which Teague converted.
But to their credit Cinderford fought back frantically in the dying moments and were nearly rewarded with a bonus point but just missed out.
Davies sent a 79th minute penalty to the corner and from the catch and drive lineout, Preece grabbed his second try in two games since joining the club which Davies brilliantly converted.
