Former Pate's Grammar School pupil Matt Smith's FA Cup heroics continued this evening as he headed in a last-gasp leveller for Oldham Athletic against Everton.
Smith was the Latics' star performer in their shock fourth round success against Liverpool, scoring twice.
He picked up a shoulder injury during that match which sidelined him until today's last 16 clash against Everton at Boundary Park.
The 6ft 6in target man went on as a substitute, replacing ex-Robins loan striker Chris Iwelumo in the 61st minute and he nodded in an injury time goal to earn Oldham a 2-2 draw and a replay at Goodison Park.
David Moyes' Everton knocked Cheltenham out 5-1 at Whaddon Road in the third round.
They fell behind at League One Oldham, with Jordan Obita tapping in Lee Croft's cross in the 13th minute.
Victor Anichebe pulled Premier League Everton level and Phil Jagielka then converted Kevin Mirallas' corner for 2-1 before Smith's dramatic intervention.
He was a young player with the Robins, but he was released and went on to study at the University of Manchester, combining his studies with part-time football until Oldham handed him his big break in the professional game.
