Police are reminding the owners of stables to be extra vigilant around security following burglaries in Stonehouse and Frampton-on-Severn.
Officers in Stroud are investigating two burglaries and a suspicious incident from and around stables in the area between 7pm on Thursday January 24 and 8.15am on Saturday January 26.
The first incident happened between 7pm and 8pm on Thursday January 24 at a farm just off The Street in Frampton-on-Severn; offender(s) entered the stables and took two horse collars and a pony's rug. The offenders then entered 3 or 4 caravans on the site. It's not sure if anything was taken.
In the second incident which happened between 9.30am on Friday January 25 and 8.15am on Saturday January 26 at a property in Stanley Downton, offenders entered the stables and took a red petrol generator and two head collars.
In a third incident, the owner of a stables, again in Frampton on Severn, this time at around12pm on January 25, saw three people thought to be two men and one woman on her driveway. The woman told the three people to leave and they ran off. It is thought that this is linked to the first incident.
Pc Jenny Lockley said "Following these burglaries we are urging the owners of stables and outbuildings to take extra care with equipment and property. Just because premises may be in a secluded place, doesn't mean that they are away from harm. Make sure that all equipment is locked away and any outbuildings are suitably secure.
"If you see any vehicles in your area that seem suspicious or unfamiliar don't hesitate to let us know by calling 101"
Anyone with information that could help the investigation should call police on 101 quoting incident 118 of January 26.
