A family was forced to evacuate their home in Lydney in the early hours of this morning (Saturday) after discovering a fire.
Two fire engines from Lydney Fire Station attended the property in Mount Pleasant after a fire was discovered in the extension of the home just before 6pm.
The fire had caused severe damage to the roof of the property and is understood to have started as the result of an electrical fault.
Two hosereels were used to extinguish the fire and the appliances were at the scene for one and a half hours.
