Police appeal after teenagers assaulted in Cheltenham

POLICE investigating an assault on two teenagers in Cheltenham are appealing to the public for help.
The incident happened at around 1.10am on Sunday, December 16, in Regent Street at the side entrance of the alleyway between Rodney Road and Cambray Place.
Two 18-year-old men from Shrewsbury were walking towards Regent Street when they were attacked by a group of men walking in the opposite direction.
They were both punched and kicked and knocked unconscious.
They were taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment and are now fully recovered.
The offenders are described as a group of around three men who were all wearing dark clothing.
One of the offenders is described as a black man who was wearing a dark hooded top or jacket.  They made off up the alleyway towards Cambray Place after the attack.
Officers believe this was an unprovoked assault and are now appealing to the public for help.
Police are particularly keen to speak to a group of at least three women who stopped to help.
One of the women had long dark hair and was wearing a beige coloured mac.
Anyone who witnessed this incident, or who has information that could help, should call police on 101 quoting incident 34 of December 16.
