NEW parents Jonathan Palmer and Claire Thomas are seeing double after welcoming twins into the world.
Beau Anais and Blake Jonathan Thomas-Palmer are a special pair already but made sure of their uniqueness by coming into the world on the last recurring date for generations – 12/12/12.
Beau arrived first, just a minute before her brother, and both are now home with their doting mum and dad.
Bizarrely, two of Claire and Jonathan's closest friends have also recently had twins themselves.
"There are three of us now," said Claire. "We've all had twins about two weeks apart which is pretty amazing."
They found out they were in for a double dose of parenthood at Claire's eight-week scan.
She said: "You're not normally supposed to have a scan that early but I had a few pains so we went to get it checked out.
"I had a weird feeling it was going to be twins so I wasn't actually that surprised."
Jonathan, however, had no such premonition.
"It was a bit of a shock," he said. "It's very tiring but when they both look at you there's nothing better."
The beautiful pair, who are not identical, were delivered a day earlier than scheduled as Claire was suffering with potentially dangerous pre-eclampsia.
But all is well with the twins, who are at home in Hardwicke for their first Christmas and keeping their parents on their toes.
Claire said: "It's knackering. They need feeding every three hours and it's an hour per baby.
"But it's lush, it's the best thing I've ever done, I just love them."
