Celebrity Big Brother fans got their first glance of battle of the Katies on last night's show.
The tension arose while discussing the care of Katie Price's disabled son, Harvey.
During a conversation about her home life Ms Price explained how expensive it is for her to have a daily driver from her home in West Sussex to central London.
She added that the cost would be even more if she also had to fund a driver for her boy, who has a range of disabilities including blindness, autism, ADHD and Prader-Willi syndrome.
'He has a driver who takes him to school each day. He travels with a special nurse who looks after him and the driver is mindful of the situation - it's tax-payer funded, which is good.'
Journalist and TV personality Katie Hopkins was quick to challenge her on why she couldn't pay for the treatment herself.
To which Price responded: "Do you know how expensive that would be… it would be up to a grand a day, besides, I pay my taxes, so if the government can help, then great."
However, Hopkins who was clearly not convinced said: "With the amount you earn I find that tricky, when you could afford it yourself.
"Look, don't get me wrong, but I believe that if you can afford something then you shouldn't allow the government to pick up the tab."
Defending her actions, Price - who is worth an estimated £40 million - responded: "But I don't earn a set amount each year, it changes all the time, so I never know how much I'm going to get.
"If the government offer to help, I'll take it."
As the debate reached boiling point the pair walked away, but Price later confessed that she was uncomfortable in the exchange.
"That was about my kids so it was a little bit close,' she said.
She also added that Katie Hopkins was 'not a politician, so I'd have this conversation with a politician.'
