Ewen Reynolds has appeared before magistrates charged with the murder of Tuffley teenager Zac Evans and the attempted murder of another man.
Zac, 19, died outside the Pike and Musket pub in Windsor Drive after allegedly being attacked with a machete on Saturday.
Reynolds, aged 44, of Foley Close, Gloucester, appeared briefly at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court this morning, Tuesday.
Dressed in a grey suit and tie, Reynolds spoke only to confirm his name.
Members of his family sat at the back of the courtroom and a woman mouthed "we love you" as the charge was read.
Reynolds has been remanded in custody to appear at Bristol Crown Court on Thursday.
