A woman died following a crash in Cleeve Hill this afternoon.
The car went off the road and hit a private property at Post Office Lane just before 3pm.
Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the woman driver, who had suffered serious head injuries, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesman for Great Western Ambulance Service said a man in the car, believed to be her husband, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.
No further information about the woman is available,
A spokesman for Gloucestershire Police confirmed they were attending a serious road traffic collision.
He said Gambles Lane and Stockwell Lane are closed and motorists were being advised to avoid the area.
However, they were unable to provide any more information on the collision at that time.
