FIREFIGHTERS made sure they did every little thing to help when a blaze broke out at Tesco's recycling centre in Cheltenham today.
A customer at the superstore off Gloucester Road spotted smoke coming from the automated recycling centre next to the car park at around 1pm, and a crew of six firefighters from Cheltenham West station were called to the scene.
Nobody was inside or near the centre when the blaze started, and a firefighter at the scene, Mike Tully, said an electrical fault is the suspected cause.
Mr Tully, a watch commander, said: "It's the first automated recycling bank fire I have come across in my 22-year career."
The recycling centre has been cordoned off by Tesco staff.
