Louise Partridge, 44, head of education at Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre, loved her pear tree so much that she took it with her when she moved from Up Hatherley to Brockworth.
The mum-of-two, married to Peter, 46, a partner in a plastics firm, said: "The pear tree was a present from my late mum, so it goes everywhere with us. We dug it up when we moved."
The former Pate's School pupil, who is also artistic director of Twocan Theatre Company, will be catering to a large family gathering this Christmas, but everyone will muck in with the preparations.
"I'm giving them a glass of wine and tell them what they are doing," she said.
