IT has been far from a Silent Night in Gloucester recently as children from across the city have been pleasing the crowds with some beautiful Christmas carols.

Robinswood Primary School was invited by Gloucester Services to sing at the M5 station to the delight of shoppers passing by.
Social enterprise co-ordinator Tricia Harding said: "Lots of customers stopped and watched the children singing, it was brilliant. There was a great reaction from passersby."
Another school showing off its musical talents has been Meadowside Primary School which held its own outdoor concert, open to parents and the public.
Deputy head Dan Port said over 100 people turned up to the first event of its kind and plans were already in place for next year.
"We think its vital to invite the public and you see a lot of Christmas spirit," he said.
"It was such a nice event, we didn't know if it was going to be successful but we're really pleased with the feedback."
