A WOMAN who took part in a "brutal" street attack on a man has been jailed for six months.
Leigh Boucher, 24, formerly of Roman Quay House, Quay Street, Gloucester, kicked and stamped on Alfred Davies in Worcester Street on August 22 last year.
Her then boyfriend, who has since been jailed for 11 months, pushed Mr Davies to the ground and repeatedly hit him over the head with a brick.
When Boucher was originally sentenced for the assault in November 2011, she was given a community order with a requirement to live at a womens' project in Walsall.
But this week she was back at Gloucester Crown Court for breaching the order by leaving the hostel.
Prosecutor Christopher Jervis said she had walked out of the Manor Project hostel on November 12 and failed to return.
Judge Jamie Tabor, who had read a probation report on Boucher, said: "The Manor Project made numerous efforts to explain to her that her current boyfriend is not the most important thing in her life."
He told her he had no alternative but to lock her up because she had failed to comply with the Manor Project's terms.
The court heard the victim was left covered in blood and suffered deep cuts to his head.
"After he went to the ground she kicked and stamped on his head and was then seen pouring a can of beer over him," he said.
In a victim impact statement he said he had numbness to his left arm and double vision in his left eye as a result of the attack.
Boucher claimed the attack happened because she had loaned Mr Davies £20 for heroin and he had refused to pay her back.
