Commuters from Quedgeley and Kingsway now have a new bus service to Cam and Dursley station for onward rail journeys to Yate, Filton and Bristol.

Running from Monday to Friday, Service 208B is operated by Third Sector Services and has been designed to connect with Bristol-bound trains.

Outward buses depart from Quedgeley Tesco at 6.20am (Kingsway 6.25am) and 7.20am (Kingsway 7.25am) for Cam and Dursley train connections departing at 6.58am and 7.54am. Returning buses connect with the 4.14pm, 5.14pm and 6.14pm trains arriving from Bristol.

Adult day return fares are £5.10 and weekly and 10 journey saver trip tickets are available from the driver.

Councillor Chas Fellows, cabinet member for economy and environment, said: "Service 208B has been set up in response to requests from Kingsway residents for a public transport link to Bristol. It is a means of giving people a real alternative to taking the car to Cam & Dursley station. The service is being part funded by Quedgeley Urban Village, but if it is well used, this service can become self-financing. I shall be looking for more initiatives such as these."
