Police investigating an incident on the M5 at the weekend have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
The incident happened at around 5.20pm on Saturday (July 20) between junctions 14 and 13 on the M5 northbound.
Only one vehicle was involved, a Nissan Navara that was towing a caravan.
The driver and passenger in the Navara, two women from Devon, were both taken to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol. One of the women was released the same day, the second suffered an injury to her head and stayed in overnight for treatment before being discharged.
There were four dogs in the vehicle, two old English sheepdogs, a poodle and a collie. The collie was caged in the vehicle but the other three ran along the carriageway. Sadly one of the sheepdogs passed away following the incident.
The carriageway reopened 30 minutes after the collision.
Any information about the collision can be given to Gloucestershire Police by dialling 101 and quoting incident number 401 of July 20.
