ROYALTY called in to Horsfall House in Minchinhampton yesterday to open a new extension at the elderly care centre.
Princess Anne was the guest of honour to mark the occasion, and visited the nursing home fete for a stroll around the gardens. The princess is patron of Horsfall House, the Minchinhampton Centre for the Elderly. Her home, at nearby Royal Gatcombe Park, hosted a sponsored walk earlier this year to raise money for services there. Former resident David Thomas, who died last year, left a legacy of £400,000 to support the commissioning of three new rooms at the home.
The money helped towards a £900,000 extension project at Horsfall, which offers nursing, dementia and day care to anyone within a six kilometre radius with a confirmed need.
