TV chef James Martin has arrived in Gloucester Quays this morning for the annual Food Festival. The star of Ready, Steady, Cook! is doing three cooking demonstrations and a book signing today. He follows in the wake of baking legend Mary Berry and Italian chef Gino D'Acampo on Friday and Saturday. He posed for pictures with fans this morning before eyeing up a new chopping board. He also picked up a few items from some of the many 100 stalls. Mr Martin told The Citizen: "Gloucester I know pretty well. I've literally been here most of yesterday filming. We were on the River Severn catching wild salmon the old-fashioned way in what almost look like tomato planters. "I'm a bit more knowledgeable on this area than I was before." He added that he has seen a growing appetite across the UK for food festivals such as the one in Gloucester over the last few years.James Martin talks to The Citizen:
Charlotte Greig, director of Naturally Created, chatted to Mr Martin about her chopping boards, many of which are created using wood sourced in Gloucestershire. Each board has a tag to say where the wood came from. She said: "James is such a lovely man. He has been rushing around everywhere but took the time to stop and chat with us. "He already uses a chopping board of ours and was having a look at what else we had on the stall today."
