Communities across the City are being urged to 'fun and frolic in the sun' – and enter a team into this year's free 'It's a Knock Out Finale' in Gloucester Park.
Part of the summer events programme, the event takes place at 2.00pm on Sunday, 28th July 2013.
This year's competition, organised by the Gloucester Partnership, follows the success of the Olympic Legacy It's a Knockout! games which were held by several community groups last year.
The idea for the competition came from the Gloucester City Vision consultation which showed that residents would like to become healthier, use their parks and open spaces more, and get involved in their local community.
The It's a Knockout!competition embraces all of these elements and it is hoped this year that more teams will enter. Local communities can event host their Knock Out Event throughout the summer with free equipment, support and funding.
Councillor Jennie Dallimore, Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods commented: "I hope communities will take this opportunity to get involved this summer by hosting local heats in their areas or being part of a community finale team
"The events are a chance for communities to come together no matter age or activity level and have fun together."
