1. Imperial Gardens, Cheltenham
This beautiful garden at the rear of Cheltenham Town Hall is a great spot for picnics. Hosting many festival in the summer including science, literature and music it has plenty of space to unravel a blanket and sip on an ice cool drink. Open all day. Free entry.
2. Broadway Tower
Stunning tower surrounded with a beautiful nature area. It is the second highest point in the Cotswolds with spectacular views and plenty of walking routes.
The tower is open from 10am to 5pm daily. Admission charges apply.
3. Birdlip Hill, Witcombe
Beautiful walks, stunning scenery and picnic spots galore. Bask in the sunshine with an ice cool drink.
Open all day. Entry free.
4. Sudeley Castle
Stunning Gardens with a stunning castle close by.
There are a number gardens to choice from for your picnic from The Ruins Garden to The White Garden.
Open from 10.30am until 5pm

5. Woodchester Park, Stroud
With five lakes, an old boat house and Waymarked trails passing an unfinished Victorian mansion this is a outstanding place for picnics.
Choice to sit by one of the lakes or in the old boat house and you will enjoy a picture perfect view. Open all day. £2 parking. Dogs welcome.
6. Pittville Park, Cheltenham
On the eastern side there is the main children's play area with great space and on the western side there is a larger park with a more natural layout and small areas of woodlands. Open all day, free entry.
7. Victoria Pleasure Gardens, Tewkesbury
Stunning gardens filled with a collection of the most beautiful, colourful flowers. Perfect for families who want to soak up the sun. Open all day. Free entry.
8. Coaley Peak Picnic Site, Nympsfield, near Stroud
With a fabulous views of Severn Vale, the Forest Of Dean and possibly even the Welsh Mountains this place is quite a spot. Open all day, free parking, dogs welcome.
9. May Hill
Open grass land, braken, and a clump of pine trees at this pleasant spot which lies between Gloucester and Ross-on-Wye.
10. Lower Slaughter
This adorable little village is a beautiful place for a picnic. With a small river running through it, it's like something out of Enid Blyton novel.
