Prince Harry enjoyed a cup of tea and a bacon and egg sandwich in Staverton yesterday. The Royal flew in to Gloucestershire Airport in a military Apache helicopter and tucked into some grub at the neighbouring Aviator pub and restaurant. He was there for about 20 minutes and manageress Pat Martin described him as "completely normal". "We didn't know he was coming, he walked in with three other guys and they sat down and did their debriefing," she said. "He was very professional, and so were we, we just treated him as a normal customer but it was very exciting." Darren Bell of Bell Carpet and Flooring shook the Prince's hand and took a few pictures of him. He said Prince Harry and many other high profile names often fly into the airport. Harry is not the only big name to have enjoyed a hearty meal at the pub. Hollywood megastar Jean Claude van Damme, Lord Sugar and Julian Lloyd-Webber have all dined there after jetting into the county in recent years. Pat added: "We have quite a lot of plane spotters nearby and we served a lot more tea and coffee while Harry was here to people who had got wind of it and came in to see him. "No-one harrassed him though, we didn't take any pictures, he just got on with it."

On the ball Twitter users quickly helped spread the news.

Pilot Paul Jones tweeted a picture yesterday of the helicopter taking off and said: "Prince Harry leaving @GlosAirport in his Apache after popping in for tea at The Aviator!"

Another tweeter, Bryonny Keyanna, said: "Omg prince Harry was in staverton today!!"
