VOLUNTARY services champion Frank Baynham, a district councillor in the Forest of Dean, has died.
Mr Baynham, from Coalway, passed away on June 19. He was elected to the council in May 2011 for the Coleford East ward and was the member champion for health and also sat on the scrutiny committee.
Council chairman Norman Stephens said: "We are very sorry to hear of the death of Frank Baynham. Although he had only been a district councillor for just over two years, he had made his mark as the council's Health Champion.
"He was also well known in the Forest for his voluntary work, along with his wife Jan, for the Forest Health Forum. He will be sadly missed."
His funeral is at 1.30pm on Friday at the Forest Crematorium.
