MORE than 700 species of flora and fauna were recorded in just 30 hours during a survey in Siccaridge Wood.
And more than 200 people braved the rain to take part in the recording weekend at the nature reserve in Sapperton.
It was held by Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust find and a total of 725 species were recorded with experts still verifying some of the harder ones.
A new species was also recorded – the wood small-reed – plus rarities such as angular Soloman's seal, small-leaved lime tree and Roman snail.
A large privet hawk moth was found, delighting eager young recorders, parents and experts.
"We had fantastic support for this BioBlitz event," said nature reserve manager Pete Bradshaw. "We set a target of 600 species. The weather didn't make this easy, with butterflies, moths, dragonflies and damselflies not flying in the rain."
The Trust will now analyse the data from 26-hectare reserve to look for new or missing species.
