PUB owners are helping to put teenager Natasha Jones's career dreams back on track.
Andre and Jane Burney only took over the Old Farmers Arms in Bishop's Cleeve in March, but they have already made a big impact on the fortunes of one member of staff.
They hired Natasha, 18, from Bredon, Tewkesbury, soon after taking over and have taken her under their wing.
Natasha was at a low point when she came onboard after leaving a catering course at Gloucestershire College when she had her confidence knocked during a work placement.
But with the encouragement of husband and wife team Andre and Jane she has now taken up a hospitality services apprenticeship with Babcock Training.
She now hopes to one day own her own country pub, and credits the Burneys for putting her back on track with their guidance.
She added: "My mum and dad were here for a carvery after they re-opened and asked about any jobs, and I started the day after.
"It has been an amazing experience since I started.
"I have so much respect for them. I've been here two months, and it's just great.
"Andre really guides me along in the kitchen, and I am learning a lot and enjoying it.
"Hopefully, I can run my own pub in the future, maybe one like this.
"I work in both the bar and the kitchen and it has been amazing."
Andre has spent more than 40 years in the catering industry, spending eight years as a chef with Hilton International and touring the world to places as far afield as Jerusalem and Malaysia, as well as working closer to home in Edinburgh and Surrey.
The 55-year-old has also spent time working as a trainer and teacher in the Philippines and a restaurant consultant in South East Asia.
Jane said: "Natasha is a very enthusiastic girl.
"She loves dealing with people, is very friendly and all the customers love her here."
