More room to play

PRE-SCHOOL fun just got a whole lot better in King's Stanley where the village playgroup has moved into larger and much improved space.

The boys and girls now have two big new playrooms, new play area, fully-accessible toilets, separate staff office and its own entrance.

The extra space for learning and play has been provided in a double classroom annexe to the Village Hall.

The building was owned by Gloucestershire County Council but the land it was on has reverted back to the Marling Trust and so the rooms are now available for community use.

Play manager Hannah Watkins-Cave said everyone was delighted with the new facilities.

"They really enhance the pre-school experience for all the children and will allow us to explore new ways to challenge and entertain them," she said.

The move has also freed up the Village Hall, where the playgroup used to meet, for other community groups.

David Hauser from the Marling Trust said it looked forward to the buildings providing valuable new opportunities for King's Stanley.

"Various playgroups and toddler groups have operated successfully from the Village Hall for 25 years but the playgroup's move to the annexe behind the hall is a tremendous opportunity for them," he said.
