INVESTIGATIONS are under way after a worker was injured in an electrical explosion at the Nu-Pro's component factory in London Road, Thrupp.
The incident has now been referred to the Health and Safety Executive.
Police and ambulance were called to the company's Eagle Works at 4pm on Monday and the electricity supply at the plant were isolated.
A 37-year-old man received burns to his hands and face following an explosion and was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital in Gloucester for treatment.
Staff from the Health and Safety Executive visited the site on yesterday.
"We are aware of the incident and are investigating," said a spokesman for the HSE.
Nu-pro Ltd also confirmed it is investigating what happened on Monday.
