FORMER Coronation Street actress Helen Wingrave has been appointed as the new head of performing arts at the South Gloucestershire and Stroud College.
Yorkshire lass Helen is to lead the new department at the college's Stroud campus.
She spent her teenage years at the National Youth Theatre before studying acting at the Academy Drama School in London.
She then worked for 11 years in theatre and television as a professional actress and director before retraining as a lecturer.
