A SEA of yellow ducks poured out of a working steam dredger in Gloucester Docks this week.
Gloucester Waterways Museum's SND No 4 is Europe's oldest working steam dredger, having been built in Holland in 1925.
She would normally have her buckets filled with mud but last Wednesday they were replaced with yellow plastic ducks.
It was to promote a fundraising duck race which will happen on May 25 and 26 during the Tall Ships Festival, to pay for repairs to the narrow boat Northwich.
Friends of the museum chairman Chris Witts said: "People will be able to board the dredger. Once on board, there will be plenty to see.
"Entry is possible down to the engine room to see the large steam engine working hard to turn the buckets. Be among the hissing steam whilst the engineers maintain pressure in the boiler."
