What's your favourite Gloucestershire day out?
A swim followed by a stroll round the Rococo Gardens in Painswick. My family and I are season ticket holders. We always call into their tea shop for cake.
And your favourite place to eat out in the county?
Polash in Abbeymead.
What's the worst job you've ever had?
Teaching pre-schoolers to swim in an outdoor pool on a bitterly cold day.
Have you got any unusual habits?
Writing down the funny things my children say and putting them in my stories.
Who is your hero and why?
I admire unsung heroes who volunteer or carry out low-paid work for the benefit of others.
What book are you reading at the moment or tell us your favourite?
My favourite book is Precious Bane by Mary Webb. I love the romance between two intelligent, compassionate people in a community that doesn't value either of those two qualities. I've just finished reading The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce. It's a gentle, wonderful story, full of tears and joy.
What was the last film you watched?
The Woman in Black.
First single/record you ever bought?
Oliver's Army by Elvis Costello and the Attractions.
Facebook or Twitter?
