MUSICIANS Emma and Matthew Denton came close to missing a major performance in the US after two flights were grounded due to safety fears.
The Cam couple form half of the Carducci Quartet. Mum-of-two Emma, who went to Wycliffe College in Stonehouse.
They were due to leave London Heathrow on a flight to Washington Dulles airport to make their debut at the Kennedy Centre the next day.
A wing problem grounded the first flight and a technical problem halted the second.
They were eventually booked on a United Airlines flight to Washington, which got them to the concert in the nick of time.
BA apologised to the couple and said they were entitled to 600 euros compensation each.
