FOX Elms Road residents are celebrating after their post box was returned.
A box has stood on the Tuffley street for more than a century but Royal Mail removed it in December, saying not enough letters were being posted to warrant it staying there.
Valiant residents launched a campaign to get it back, helped through the pages of The Citizen. They also enlisted city MP Richard Graham.
Royal Mail initially said it could take up to 32 weeks to order the replacement but residents were pleasantly surprised last month when it was returned.
On Saturday it was used again for the first time by Royal Mail and around 20 residents, led by campaign stalwart Lorraine Campbell, were out in force.
Mrs Campbell, who was wearing a home-made post box hat, said: "It is a fantastic day and so wonderful to see so many people."
