As part of the City Council's Big Clean campaign – residents and businesses are being urged to join forces to come out and clean up their patch in time for the forthcoming events in the City.
Council Officers will be working with volunteers, businesses and residents in the city centre to lend a hand for the big spring clean.
Equipment will be provided to those who can lend a hand for as little as long or possible from Friday 17th May – Sunday 19th May between 10am and 3pm.
Anyone interested is asked to either come along to the meeting point at Shire Hall, or for further information they can email heretohelp@gloucester.gov.uk.
The team of volunteers will hopefully be painting over graffiti, cleaning the benches, litter picking and weeding as well as some simple maintenance around a number of locations including; Bull Lane, Quayside, Westgate, Northgate and Eastgate Street, Berkeley Street, Mariners Walk and St Jones Lane.
Kathy Williams, Cabinet Member for Services and Neighbourhoods said: "Days like these are a great opportunity for residents and businesses to come together and tackle anti social behaviour, such as fly tipping and littering, head on.
"These cleanup days not only help tidy an area up in the short term, but also build pride, and makes people realise how they can make a positive impact on their community."
Volunteers will also be encouraging residents and businesses to recycle and additional bins will be placed outside Shire Hall over the weekend.
