BUDDING journalist Molly Reeve shone in her court reporter's role during the annual magistrates' Mock Trial competition.
The 10-year-old pupil from the Croft School in Painswick won Stroud Life's prize of a dictionary after her write-up of proceedings at the pretend trial was judged the best.
"She is an able writer," her teacher Kathryn Skipp agreed.
Her Year Six class had gained a lot by taking part in the challenge, designed to teach children about the British criminal justice system.
"We learned a lot about how the courtroom is set out, its procedures and, importantly, the respect which should be shown to the magistrates , said Mrs Skipp.
